Are Hyrox Elites Ruining The Sport…Or Saving It?
There’s a certain look elite athletes get before the race starts. It’s quiet, almost calm, but you can tell everything inside them is wired and ready to go. That’s the space we’re stepping into this year. The Reel Creativez has partnered with HYROX APAC to cover HYROX Major Melbourne, December 12–13, and our focus is simple: tell the story of the elites.
HYROX has gone from “what’s this new thing?” to sold out races, stacked fields and people planning their whole year around one race weekend. The sport is moving fast. Records are getting broken, elites are fine-tuning the courses every race and the athletes are starting to look world-class. That’s who we’re here for. The ones who chase seconds. The ones who travel across the world for eight brutal workouts and a finish line that lasts maybe two minutes, then lives in their head for months.
Our cameras will be on the floor, in the warm up, in the quiet corners where people pace and stare at the ground, replaying the race in their mind before it even starts. We want to show how heavy the sleds really feel when the tank is empty. How loud the crowd gets when someone refuses to let go of the rope. How big HYROX has become when you step back and see the full arena, but also how small the world feels when it’s just one athlete, one lane and one more rep.
It’s about capturing the intensity, the emotion and the scale of HYROX through the people who sit at the very top of it.
Melbourne is the start of that for us. If we do our job right, you won’t just see what happened at HYROX Major Melbourne. You’ll feel what it cost.
